Time

Awww, that has been a long, long time… But I’ve still got loads of things to post here. Will have more time on my hands very, very soon, so I will be updating more often. Cheers!

SantaSM

It is so stupid and pointless… that it’s awesome. I laughed hard.
A nice breathe of fresh air in the mountains of “Merry Xmas” ads and songs that have been played over and over again for every year.
Who wants to be the Pied Pipeeeeer, muahahaaa!

Update: Here is a new one -- Warm And Fuzzy Feeling

Atelic

I just liked it. So simple and yet interesting. Filmed through iron mesh, using Canon D5 MKII with a manual 25mm Carl Zeiss lens.

Outside The Box

Be original, think outside the… ehhm… wait… Isn’t that what everybody says? Joseph Pelling offers some other versions in the video below.

Nu Lot Competition

Yo, this could be interesting for some of You guys out there! I would like to participate as well, but – eeeeh – have to polish my Ableton skills a bit more before crawling out in to public. Still sounds very exciting to me.
So this is the thing – Lot49 has launched a quite interesting and intriguing competition for new producers, with the chance to win a 3 single deal with Lot49 records, inclusion on an exclusive compilation album and a host of prizes. Judges? How about them: Timo Maas, Orbital, D Ramirez, James Zabiela, Steve Mac
To enter the competition is quite simple, just write an extraordinarily good and original piece of dance music and before Dec 1st submit it to the label via their dedicated SoundCloud Dropbox. For more info just click on the “New Lot Competition” button in the Lot49 web.

No Internet

No internet for two weeks… Just stealing some bits from neighbour’s wifi occasionally. So no new updates for now.
Waiting for my connection to be set up.

Chameleon

Was listening to Trentemøller today again. I must admit he is my favourite minimal electronic music producer for now. And one of the best remixers, at least from those I know. I love the massiveness of his music, the raw and rugged sounds, the deep bass and powerful atmosphere. Listening to Chameleon got me thinking about all this, so I want to share it with You as well.
Note -- decent sound system needed (good headphones at least) to experience this music properly.

Mind Looping Technology

Dreamy, peaceful, full of juicy bass – beautiful chilled-out electronic piece Mind Looping Technology by Robert Babicz. Love the oriental garnishment. Enjoy!

Extra

Terrifying, disgusting, scary and… alluring. This is video for Ken Ishii’s pulsating and energetic techno track Extra. I remember seeing it back in the late nineties. Even though the video was so strange and frightening for me as a kid at that time, I still remember myself really enjoying the music and the combination of flashing, violent anime that went together with it. I think it is some kind of a way of touching that animalistic part of a human being that lives inside of all of us. Scary yet tempting. A way of releasing that energy by diving into the music and visuals that take over your senses. That’s why I like this tune and it’s video so much. Masterpiece in my world.

Btw, the track hasn’t lost any of it’s punch over the years, it still feels fresh even by today’s standards. Album version is almost nine minutes long. Ken Ishii still is one of my favorite techno artists.

Tru Thoughts

Tru Thoughts 10th Anniversary Megamix for Radio 1 by Hint… Maaan… I’m still bobbin’ me head quite hard here. Great half-an-hour mix created entirely out of Tru Thoughts artists’ tunes. Very funky, soulful and full of positive dancin’ energy. I love this music! Discovered many new artists while enjoying this mix – it is full of funky tunes from the first minute to the last, no slapdash here.
What’s even better – this groovy package is available for download. For free! Click on the download icon on the player. Quick.
You can find the tracklist in the comments section here.

About this magnificent creation from the mixing-man Hint himself: Here’s a megamix style affair I made, originally for broadcast as part of the Tru Thoughts 10th Anniversary feature on Giles Peterson’s Radio One show. I only had a couple of days to make it, so it is by no means exhaustive. My main aim was to feature as much of the current roster as possible as well as squeeze in a few personal favourites. There are a few exclusives too: my remix of Kylie Auldist should appear on a 12″ in the coming months, and eagle-eared listeners will notice unreleased tracks from Domu, Quantic and Stonephace, which are all exclusive to the forthcoming Tru Thoughts 3xCD anniversary boxset.

Hot stuff! Waiting for the boxset!
